You stay at home.
In those first weeks, staying at home can make the day much easier. I set up professional lighting and backdrops in your living room, so there’s no need to travel to a studio for a photo shoot. You and your baby can stay comfortable in safe, familiar surroundings.
Your home doesn’t need to be styled.
All I need is a small corner of your living room. The full session can be shot using my own backdrops, so there’s no need to tidy up or style your home. A few photos in your bedroom or nursery are always an option, entirely up to you.
Easy for the whole family.
Your partner, older children and grandparents can do their own thing between photographs, joining us for family portraits without needing to stay involved for the whole session.
Your pets can join in, too.
We can include your furry friends in a few family photographs if you’d like, as long as you feel it’s safe for your baby.

Hi, I’m Lena.
I’ve specialised in newborn photography since 2013 and photographed hundreds of babies and their families.
I’m a mum too, and I know there’s a lot to think about in those first weeks. I’m patient with newborns and young children, and I’ll guide you through the session so you can feel comfortable being in the photographs.
Before this, I worked as a full-time photo editor. That attention to detail carries through to your finished photographs. I keep the styling simple, with the focus on your baby and your family.

Is my home suitable, even if it’s small?
I bring lighting and backdrops, so the room itself won’t be the background for your portraits unless you’d like some photographs in your own home setting. I only need a small area for the setup, usually just a few square metres. Most living rooms have enough space, and if needed, we can simply move a table or a few things out of the way.
What if my baby cries or stays awake?
There’s time to feed, change and settle your baby, and I adapt the photographs to how they’re feeling. Awake portraits can be lovely too. We’ll work at your baby’s pace throughout the session.
How old should my baby be? Can I still book if they’re older?
We can plan a session in the first few weeks, including around four weeks old. It’s best to enquire during pregnancy and arrange the exact day once your baby arrives. If your baby is already a little older, please get in touch with their age and the photographs you’d like.
How long should we allow for the session?
Please allow around 3–4 hours, including time for feeding, changing and settling. I’ll bring and set up the equipment, and we’ll take breaks as your baby needs them.
Can parents and older children be in the photographs?
Yes. Photographs with parents and siblings are included in both packages. I’ll guide you through them and give younger children time and encouragement to join in.
What should we wear for our session?
I bring the wraps and everything needed for your baby’s portraits. For family photographs, simple, comfortable clothes in colours that work together are a good choice. I’m happy to help you decide before the session.
How do we choose our photographs, and when are they ready?
I’ll send you a preview gallery after your session so you can choose the photographs you’d like me to retouch. Your finished images will be ready within two weeks. You’ll receive the retouched digital images to download, keep and print whenever you like.
Can we keep our photographs private?
I’m always very grateful when families allow me to share a few photographs from their session, as it helps future clients see the kind of work I create. Of course, if you’d prefer to keep your photographs private, that’s absolutely fine too. I’ll only ever share images with your permission.
