Baby boy’s photo session

There is a sweet newborn baby boy on the blog today! I captured his professional baby photos in Sydney. He was an absolute dream to work with. He was a little bit older than 2 week, acrually he was 3.5 weeks old. He was still tiny and curled up. I like to capture timeless photos even when I use some props. I prever to style them in a way that nothing distracts attention from your baby boy or baby girl.

Here are some of my favourite photos:

A key ingredient to a great newborn photography session is a happy, warm, well-fed, brand new baby. I keep a space heater going the entire session, I also like to have white noise or soft relaxation music playing in the background. Newborn babies photograph best within the first two weeks of life. My preference is between 5 to 14 days after birth.  After a couple of weeks, newborns lose their womb-like behaviour and these sessions are better suited to sleepy, dreamy, curly babies!

You have waited months for your tiny one to arrive, and the early weeks go by in an absolute blur. Those early moments will be the ones you try desperately to remember as time goes by. Newborn portraits are a perfect way to capture the details of this special time and look back on them for years to come.
