Photoshop editing of a baby photo

Before and After Photoshop edditing

Newborn photo shoot is only a part of my job, photoshop editing is my next step to produce the final baby and family images you can see in my galleries.

Our editing styles are one of the biggest things that sets us apart as newborn photographers. I have over 10 years experience working full-time as a photoshop Retoucher before I switched my career paths to became a newborn photographer.

I have always gravitated towards a natural classic style of images, not so moody, not so airy, just organic. However sometimes I play with different styles and techniques to achieve more variety for my client’s galleries.

The most important thing for me is to get great raw images during the session first, and just to enhance the natural beauty of the babies later in post production. The raw camera images are opened up in Lightroom, where a few minor colour adjustments are made and then photos are imported into Photoshop for skin correction and some other finishing touches.

I have spent years learning about everything that goes into newborn photography and photoshop editing is just one of those elements that goes into the art that I create for you.

Here is an example of before and after retouching of a sweetest little baby girl I photographed last week.

When babies are born, they are everything! There is nothing more special than our kids, we want them to be our babies forever! Capturing this special time for parents is something that I love and is absolutely worth documenting.
