Sydney photo session of family with newborn and sibling.

As a Newborn Photographer in the Northern Beaches, I’m passionate about capturing those first, magical moments with your baby

“Realising how much your heart grows with each child. The amount of love I have for my partner and children just increases every day. It is such a blessing to be able to have these little people in your life,”
says the mum of this cute two-week-old little boy.

It was a great pleasure to meet this amazing family once again. As a newborn photographer, I captured both of their children, and I loved every second of both sessions! Today in my blog post their Mum shares a little bit about her family:

“Our beautiful baby boy’s name is Nash. We wanted a name that was different but not too out there. We went through the top 1000 baby boy names and found the name in the 300’s. All of the midwives at the hospital said they have never had another Nash come through so it is definitely a unique name in Australia.

We used Lena for our first baby and it was really important for us to get professional newborn photos again as we are now even more aware on how quickly your baby grows and changes. The photos are such a beautiful thing to have to look back on, and you want to have quality photos that only a professional photographer that specialises in newborns will be able to capture. Iris loves looking at the photos of her as a baby and they also made great presents to give to the grandparents and aunties and uncles.

All of our friends either have two girls (majority) or two boys so we thought Nash would probably be a girl. The lady who did the ultrasound wrote the gender on a slip of paper and put it in an envelope as Louie had to work so couldn’t be there. I couldn’t wait for him to finish at 9 pm that night so I drove straight to his work and we opened the envelope together and were super excited and surprised to find out we were having a boy.
We are both super impatient so we found out with both of our babies. It also helps with planning and buying things in advance.

Iris was almost two weeks over so I was pleasantly surprised when Nash came two days early. The last few weeks of pregnancy are tough so I’m glad he came when he did, I was ready to have him home with us… I had just picked Iris up from daycare as she had a temperature, I joked with the childcare workers that I would probably go into labour while she was unwell and then the contractions started one hour later! He was in our arms ten hours later. Iris said throughout the pregnancy he would come on a Wednesday, the labour started on the Wednesday but he was born at 3:15am on the Thursday.

Our first few days with your new baby… A blur of newborn cuddles, diaper changes and constant breastfeeding. We were only in the hospital for one night so we went home and got straight back into reality as a family of 4 (5 if you count the pug). We had to make sure it wasn’t too full on for the toddler to introduce him so we made sure to both have alone time with her, as well as including her when we did things with him as much as possible.

To our little one we sing All my Life by Kci and Jojo (Daddy sings it to him and it settles him) when we are in the car Iris by Goo Goo Dolls calms him down, he isn’t a fan of nursery rhymes at the moment but seems to enjoy rock haha!”
