This blog post is about older newborn photography. Under 2 weeks is ideal age for newborn session as babies are very sleepy and still in that curly stage. But it is not always happens for different reasons and that shouldn’t mean you can’t still get beautiful newborn photos. Slightly older newborns may be more reactive to light and sound, they are already used to wearing clothes, they sleep less.

Older newborn photography sessions do not always achieve a full sleepy baby gallery however, a variety of poses can be done. Some babies develop their own preferences right from the start and are unwilling to be placed in some positions and as your photographer I will always create the best images of your baby on the day.

Baby session combines a mixture of sleepy and awake photographs and parent portraits. A huge advantage is that normally older newborn can already focus well and you can get some beautiful open eye images.

Older newborn photography can take full advantage of interacting with the baby and sometimes even get smiles. See the photos below for examples of photo shoot at 7 week old. What a gorgeous family and baby! He was an angel.
